We're a small, friendly street food tour in Poznań, just getting started. Real vendors, real neighbourhoods, honest prices — and hopefully a few new friends by the end of it.
Good food should feel like it belongs to someone — not like it was made for a tour group.
We go looking for the food that's actually part of a neighbourhood: the stall that's been there for years, the recipe that means something to the person making it. Nothing dressed up for tourists, nothing overpriced.
Come as you are, curious and hungry. We'll ask you questions, you'll meet people you didn't expect to, and somewhere around the second or third bite, you'll probably forget you're on a "tour" at all.
No landmarks, no menus in five languages. Just a good smell and a vendor who's spent years getting one dish exactly right.
Who's cooking, why here, what's changed on this street over the years. You'll know exactly what you're eating, and why it matters.
By the last bite you're probably swapping travel stories with someone you met an hour ago.
Zosia, out finding lunch
In 2013 I spent three months eating my way through Indonesia, Vietnam, Taiwan and Japan with my partner. A street food tour on the back of a motorbike in Ho Chi Minh City changed something in me — I remember thinking, I want to do this for a living.
Back in Amsterdam, I started Hungry Birds Street Food Tours with my dear friend Esther-Hanna. For ten years we fed thousands of curious travellers. After a few years focused on my family, my garden and my little corner of the Polish countryside — I'm back, this time in Poznań, with a fox for a name and the same idea at heart: good food, real people, and a table where everyone's welcome.
Poznań classics and local favourites, both savoury and sweet, from places the locals actually go to. Come hungry: it adds up to a full meal and more.
Of course! Vegetarians are very welcome, and we'll have an alternative for you at every stop. Just let us know when you book.
Please tell us about any allergies or dietary needs when you book. The tour isn't really suited to vegan or gluten-free diets: we'll do our best to accommodate you, but we can't promise an alternative at every stop. If you'd like to come along for the adventure anyway, drop us a line first and we'll talk it through.
Yes. Some stops include a local alcoholic drink, and there's always an alcohol-free alternative, so everyone can join in.
Yes! Children aged 5–12 pay a reduced price, and children under 5 join for free. Strollers are fine on the route, though it's a city, so expect the odd tricky kerb or cobbled stretch.
About 2.5–3 km at a relaxed pace, with plenty of breaks while we eat. Parts of the route are cobbled, so unfortunately it isn't easily accessible by wheelchair. If you have questions about accessibility, just get in touch.
We go in all weather, so just dress for the day. If the weather is truly extreme, or your guide falls ill, we'll contact you and you can choose between moving to another date or a full refund.
Our tours run in English and Polish.
